Elite Series Results:
Round 11: 5 Feb - Gong Scorpions (L) vs. Northern Beaches (W) Score 4-12
Our first game of the new year, thnkas for everyone who made it to the game and played. We had a much better result then our first game against the Stingrays, so hopefully our team can continue to improve.
Round 7: 27 Nov - Gong Scorpions (L) vs. Glebe FC (W) Score 3-20
After a two week break for the team, we returned to the comp to face one of the harder teams and the current Australian Open Champions, Glebe FC. A majority of our players couldn’t make the game due to personal priorities and at first we were unsure whether we would have enough players for a team. But right before we forfeited, some of our team showed up and we were able to play with one sub. However after the first 15mins of the game our team could really feel the pressure and Glebe was able to get in front and stay in front. It was a fun and very exhausting game, but was a welcome after two weeks of not playing. Congratulations to Glebe and also to Yannick, Daniel and Lachlan for scoring the goals for our team.
Round 4: 6 Nov - Gong Scorpions (L) vs. Sydney Blue Tongues (W) Score 3-8
A fun and hard game that was well played by both teams. Good to see our team improving and our player base expanding. Thanks to everyone that played and hope to see you all for our next game.
Round 3: 30 Oct - Gong Scorpions (L) vs. Wollongong Floorball Club (W) Score: 3-5
Probably one of the most enjoyable games of the season so far, both teams played extremely well. Gong Scorpions lead the score board for the majority of the game, going into the 3rd period with a 3-1 lead. However after a few quick goals by Wollongong FC the scores were tired up. Eventually they pulled the win away from us with 2 extra goals by the end of the game. I would like to say very well done to the Wollongong FC boys for such a great game and for improving in leaps and bounds from the previous season. Also, a very good game was played by our goal keeper Sean, and I think the score would have been far less in our favour without him. Congratulations to Gong Scorpions for playing a good game and to Brendon, Martin and Yannick for scoring our teams goals. Also, a big thank you to our cheer squad for being very encouraging and supportive.
Round 2: 23rd Oct - Gong Scorpions (L) vs. Bondi (W) Score: 3-9
Once again another hard game. But it was easy to see the improvements and the difference a few more players on the team made. The game was once again very fun but also very exhausting; we look forward to playing against Bondi next time. Congratulations to Todd, Yannick and Jacob for scoring the goals for our team.
Round 1: 16th Oct - Gong Scorpions (L) vs. Northern Beaches Stingrays (W) Score: 20-1
This marks the first game in the elite series for the gong scorpions, and unfortunately it was up against one of the most experienced teams in the competition. Despite the score difference, this game allowed many of the new players to get a feel for floorball and it was a great learning experience for the team as a whole. Congratulations to Northern Beaches. Also congratulations to Lachlan Clay who scored the first and only goal for the Scorpions, with the assist by Alan Clay. This not only marks Gong Scorpions first goal, but also Lachlan’s first goal/game in the Elite Series.
