First Games of the Season

Andrew Clay Last weekend (29th Oct) marked the first games of the NSW Elite and Mixed series competitions. This year, the Gong Scorpions and the Peninsula Floorball Club joined together to form teams to enter into both competitions. Due to the fact that both these teams are fairly new to the sport, these games marked the first elite level game for many players. Our Elite Series team was narrowly defeated by Bondi 6-7, this is a very promising result for the team. However, one of our most experienced players ( who is also one of the webmasters for this website) Daniel Clay, injured his knee and had to retire early in the game. Our mixed team won the game against the Bondi mixed team 2-0. Both these results are very promising as it proves that our newly formed team can hold its own against more experienced and seasoned teams.
Concerning Daniels knee injury
The injury Daniel sustained during the game was much more serious then previously thought. Daniel has damaged his ACL ligament in his knee. This is one of the worse ligaments to damage and his injury may have to result in surgery. It is likely that Daniel will be unable to play for the remainder of this season. We wish Daniel all the best and a speedy recovery.
